Sharing Tails

Let Us Teach Your Elementary School Kids About Native Arizona Fishes as an In-school Field Trip!

Sharing Tails is a K-2 elementary program, primarily for kindergarten (if this is your school’s first year with our program) as we visit these same kids as they move on to first and second grades, allowing our program to build each year as the kids grow and learn! We send pre- and post-visit materials then VIRTUALLY visit your school to teach about Arizona native fishes through a fun, interactive presentation where kids can meet a fish scientist and gain an appreciation for our state’s unique natural resources! Our program does not use live fish as most Arizona fishes are threatened, endangered or Species of Concern, but rather we use pictures, videos and creative materials for kids to see! Sharing Tails is a formal program that supports aspects of the Arizona Science Standards and Arizona’s Standards English Language Arts and Math per grade level.

Virtual Sharing Tails Program time: approx 20-30 min per session

Aspects of Life Sciences within Arizona Science Standards (updated 2019) for kindergarten, first grade and second grade that Sharing Tails touches on during programming are highlighted in blue..
